And finally, Amy Lee, co-founder and lead vocalist of the rock band Evanescence, is 35 today. “Bring Me To Life” was their debut single, released in 2003 and a huge global hit – making number one in the UK (for four weeks) and Australia (for six weeks), and going top five in America, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, and New Zealand. The band won in the category for Best Hard Rock Performance at the 46th Grammy Awards where the song “Bring Me To Life” was also nominated for Best Rock Song. “Going Under” and “My Immortal” were their other UK top ten successes.
Lee has also, away from Evanescence, composed the soundtracks to films “War Story” (2014) and “Indigo Grey: The Passage” (2015) with cellist Dave Eggar. Here is her unmistakable voice together with the rest of the band performing at the MTV World Stage event at Little Rock, Arkansas, in 2012.
